Paul's a compère, performer, poet, writer, singer, musician, workshop leader , film maker and, more recently, a publisher - Preeta Press. 

He's the founder and Editor-in-chief  of Net Words

Aug2008Wigan2He's the ex-Chair of the Bolton's Art and Heritage organisation - Live from Worktown.

In 2014, he founded and co-ran a monthly writers' workshop, called Wood Street Writers, which met second Saturday of every month at 16 Wood Street, Bolton.

He set up a story reading evening that runs periodically.

He runs the irregular, legendary 'Riders' multi-media event at different venues in the North West region - watch out for the next one it's an experience not to be missed.

Throughout the years he has been involved in a variety of Art projects and organisations, though his first love has always been writing, especially poetry, songs and short stories. You can find examples of his work (poems, stories, songs and videos) on this site and at the Optical Busstop website.

He also organises and runs the occasional workshop on subjects as diverse as  writing poetry, performance, film, audio recording, IT, web site building and tracing your ancestors.

Poetry UK
Over the last 40+ years he's been heavily involved in the vibrant and growing UK poetry scene and from 2005 to 2011 ran Write Out Loud, a national Poetry Organisation. During this period he instigated and ran various regular and one off events including World Book Day 2008 in Rochdale, and the BBC Radio 4 NW heat slam in 2010. He also helped organise and participated in poetry festivals in Bordeaux. In 2016 he performed in Montreal, Canada was a guest of the Woodie Guthrie poets in Oklahoma, USA.

TV and Radio
Paul made several appearances on the notorious Channel 4 TV programme "The Word" with Nat Clare. More recently he was commissioned to write poems for, and appeared on, Sky TV. He's also made contributions to local and national radio programmes and has appeared on regional TV stations.

Wise Badger Magazine
Paul was editor and wrote articles for the Wise Badger magazine which started in late 2011. Although a critical success, the magazine had to close after two years due to financial problems. You can see some of the articles Paul wrote for the Magazine here. Topics he covered include: The Thriller, Poetry, Tracing your Ancestors, The Guitar, Literary Figures, Using Movie Maker, Home Recording, Song Writing, Personal Finance, Favourite Walks and 'Necromancy for Beginners'.
