A friend of Tommy's called Glenn Crane, from Westminster, South Carolina, added the great Dobro guitar, then William from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee overdubbed the drum track and Tommy did the final mix, mastering and production.

(You don’t know how many miles are on) these shoes

When you left me feeling helpless
You didn’t hear me cry
You crushed my pride completely
Didn’t even say goodbye
So I’ve been looking for you
I’ve nothing more to lose
You don’t know how many miles you put on these shoes

You were a two-timing no-good
You always made me sad
I tried to give you good loving
You went and turned it bad
I don’t know why I look for you
Except I paid my dues
You don’t know how many miles you put on these shoes

The heels are worn in places
The soles are nearly through
But I know I can count on them
More than I could you

I am my own worst enemy
I don’t know when to stop
I’ll keep on looking out for you babe
Until the day I drop
And if I ever find you
These are the words I’ll use
You don’t know how many miles you put on these shoes
